Man, I forgot to blog again yesterday. Too tired, I supposed. But hey, can't blame me. It started off quite badly.
Woke up at 9AM, by a phone call from a friend. He was asking me for his lab coat. (I borrowed his last Thursday because I forgot to bring mine. He's a friend from the Life Sciences area.) I was so sleepy, so I said okay, and asked him what time he was having practical that day. "10AM," he said. Oh great, a very fast start to a day. And I have to rush to school. Can't be any worse. Juz that when I have prepared myself, I realized I have not packed my stuff. Dang.
After a few minutes (plus, minus), I finally got out of the house. Time check: 9:30AM. This should be getting interesting. Better hail a taxi to go to school. On the way to the taxi stand, I checked my wallet. $8. Arrgh. No cash in hand. Immediately I made a U-turn for the MRT station. Smsed my friend I'll be there in 30 mins. When I did reach there, it was already 10:10AM. My friend took it quite well, saying his lecturer is a pretty nice guy, adn I shouldn't worry about it. Oh well.
Time check again: 10:25AM. Darn, I have a lecture at 10:30AM, and the lecture theatre is like, the other end of the school. I made my way there, and finally for the first time in the day, I felt that everything was going well. And it did, till the end of school. Then I was preparing for my quarter-final match in my club tournament.
My team name is Rhapsodies. We made it quite well in the group stages, winning 2 games and losing only 1. Scored 7 goals, and conceded 3. Sounds like a good record for a team who don't even know who their goalkeeper is at the start of the tournament: Me. In the quarter-finals, we were up against Pooh Key Keduax. A team which won all of their 3 group matches. And it didn't start the way we would have liked. As they were attacking, my line of vision was blocked by the defender's legs, and suddenly the ball was lobbed over me. That was the 4th time in the tournament that I picked the ball out of my own net. But hey, don't write off my team just yet. I'd say, their fighting spirit is darn good. We equalised in the first half from a corner, then one of our member scored a superb long range shot from maybe 20-30 metres out. Then the game was killed with our third goal. We have entered the semi-finals.
The semi-finals was played on the same day, so we hung around until it was our turn again. This time, we were up against Line 7. A team who had just beaten Batu Basaraf, the favourites to win the tournament, in the quarter-finals. And I didn't expect to go up against a penalty when my defender handled the ball in the box. Sheesh, it was more like ball to hand. The penalty went in, as I dived the wrong way. But like what I had said, never write my team off. They countered and countered and Line 7 was under so much pressure, they conceded in the last 3 minutes of the game. 1-1. Now this is interesting. We held up the draw till the final whistle. Penalty shootout. One of my team players wanted to play goalkeeper for the whole shootout. "Why not? Go ahead," I said. And boy, I never regretted that decision. His closing down was so good, Line 7 missed all 3 penalties, and we managed to convert one. Finals, here we come.
I was feeling so tired on my way home. Then I realised that I have another match on the next day. ICT Club match. Arrgh, and my fitness is like, so low. I thought about my schedule. Tuesday, ICT Club match. Wednesday, Soccer Final. Thursday, most like Kompang training. Friday, another ICT Club match. I have a busy schedule ahead.
And now, as I sit here in my practical lab doing anything BUT my practical, I sneezed and sneezed. Yeah, I'm having a flu. What the hell. I think I'm in for a very sneezy day.
I mean it.
*AH CHOO!!*
