[Mood: Fine] [Mentally: Stable] [Physically: Need Some Workout] [State of Mind: Clear]
Woke up quite early today to set up my laptop. Something was wrong with it when I tried to install Service pack 2 last night. Managed to install and patch most of the security updates before heading to school for presentation.
It was already drizzling when I left the house. Just as I arrived at the MRT station, a downpour occured. *phew* And the downpour continued all the way to school. My group mate called me along the way, asking for my presentation slides. "What do you mean? I thought Daniel doing everything?" I said. During the first presentation, I created and modified the whole presentation for the group. I thought the same thing would b done here. I was so wrong. Turned out I had to make my own, and I didn't. And according to the time, I have less than half an hour to finish it.
The moment I reached school, the rest of the group didn't really know what to put for my slides. I told them to put screenshots only, and leave the rest to me. In the class, Yaomin and I are well-known to "smoke-bomb" lecturers when there is a need. We can practically explain in a very convincing way that they'll believe us. Trust me, it's a very good skill. Going into the presentation room, I had nothing prepared except for my brains on standby to do some quick thinking-on-the-feet.
The presentation started smoothly, and when it was my turn, I threw as many smoke-bombs as I could. Went fine in the end. At the end of the presentation, after some questions, the Japanese supervisor requested for 2 students to come over to Japan to continue the work. Said he has a grant of 70 million yen, that's about 1.05 million Singapore dollars. Yaomin and I looked at each other. We were hoping to be going there to continue the work, as we are already quite familiar with how it is supposed to work. But I guess we'll just have to wait until the interview this Friday.
After the interview, one of the lecturers who was watching the presentation wanted to see a demo of the program. Practically threw more smoke-bombs, and he was quite impressed. Our lecturer-in-charge told us to get ready to continue the project after the exams. Looks like no holidays for my group. My Genomics & Proteomics lecturer was there to explain about his assignment (yes, the 3000 words report I have yet to start). Managed to understand it, and tried to ask him for more time. I guess he gave in to our persistance, and said the maximum will be on Friday morning. Excellent. I have some time to kill on this assignment.
I came down with a flu on the way home, must be because I walked in the rain. Kept sneezing the whole time. Time for me to get a rest? Nah.
Not until after exams.
