[Mood: Fine] [Mentally: Strained] [Physically: Cold] [State of Mind: Packed]
It has been some weekend. Friday was Hari Raya Haji. And yeah, I supposed it was a public holiday in Singapore. Unfortunately, Japan was not on holiday at that time, so I still had to work. I figured out to make my day, I'll cook a better lunch. So I took a look inside my refrigerator, deduce what I can cook from them, and set off into my task. After half an hour, this is what I came up with: Rice with boiled chicken and mixed vegetables, and chicken soup.
And so I set off to do my work as per normal. I was on the verge of some breakthrough. Almost there with my codes, except that the extraction of some duplicate variables was not properly done. Unfortunately, Gabor wanted to bring us out for dinner. So I had to leave my ""verge of breakthrough" alone for a while and followed the guys out.
We wanted to cycle to the restaurant, as it was quite far away, but the snow's coming down heavy, so we decided to walk. It was some 15 minutes walk, trying to brave the cold which was unusually heavy. Luckily they had vegetarian there, and I ate some soup, with lots of beansprouts. As if I have never eaten enough of it. Lolz.
After that, we dropped by a movie rental store, which had quite a huge collection of movies. There was even an area which was closed with a sign on the door, "Above 18 only.". Yeah, you guessed it. And somehow one of my friends (to protect the "innocent", I shall not reveal who) was just too curious and went in. He came out with eyes wide open. *Dotz.*
In the end, we rented out 2 movies, King Arthur and Matrix Revolutions, and reaching back to the university, we wasted no time watching it. It was already 11PM, but what the heck, it was Friday night. We entered one of the projection rooms which no one was using, and watched the movie via projector screen. King Arthur is a great movie, and by then, it was already 1AM. Gabor needed to continue with his work, so he left the 3 of us with Matrix Revolutions. And that ended at 4AM. We hung around the lab for a while before going back to sleep.
Saturday was nothing much really, except that it was snowing non-stop. By night-time, it was already ankle deep. Today, I woke up with a choice to make, to go to work, or not. I'm not quite sure as it is a Sunday, but then, I have nothing else to do. Lazed in bed all the way until Yaomin called me to go to the supermarket to stock on our foodstuffs. Had a quick check, and yeah, I could use some things. He suggested we cycle there. I was a bit shocked.
The reason was mainly the last time I cycled was maybe a couple of years ago. I can't remember. And I tend to have some kind of minor phobia while riding. So I wasn't really up to the idea of cycling there. But the bikes were already prepared, so I took 10 minutes to get used to it. This is no ordinary cycling on the cycle path in the park. This is cycling during peak traffic period in the snow. Oh yeah, it was crazy. I almost lost control a couple of times, but managed to keep it on track. It cut down our travel time by half. Maybe I'll try that again.
At night, we had quite a feast. Yaomin was doing the cooking, I did the preparing. We had grilled salmon, stir-fried black pepper chicken (halal & non-halal), scrambled eggs, some veggies and Japanese sticky rice.
Now it's 4:30AM Jap time, and I still can't sleep. Maybe I'll have a couple of winks to prepare myself for the day.
Now, what should I cook for lunch? *thinks*
