[Mood: Fine] [Mentally: Okay] [Physically: Numb] [State of Mind: Great]
Been some days since I blogged. Been having quite a time during that period.
On Friday, while playing Ping-Pong, Gabor introduced Shafi-san to us. Shafi is one of the top-level people in the E-Cell project, so we were not quite glad we were introduced while playing Ping-Pong. First impression counts, you see. But Shafi-san invited us out for dinner, so we went along. He and Satya (Malaysian student studying in Keio University) went there by car, whereas Gabor, Likai, Yaomin, Chin Ho and me cycled there. It was a scary ride, as it was at night, and the roads were slippery. Little did I know that in days to come, I'll experience worse.
We had dinner, and as like the previous Friday night, we went to Tsutaya (video rental store) and borrowed out more DVDs. Last week was King Arthur and Matrix Revolutions, this time, we borrowed Tears of the Sun and Black Hawk Down. Shafi-san stayed up with us until 4AM to watch both movies.
On Saturday, it started snowing pretty badly. And I mean real bad. You can see how bad the weather was in the photos below. Visibility was super low.
There was a combination of sleet and snow, and by night time, the level of snow on the ground was 3 inches. The following day, I couldn't resist making a butterfly in the snow.
A butterfly? you might ask. Yeah, I don't really know the name for it, but I've seen them do it in movies. You lie down in the snow, and you move your arms and legs as if you are doing jumping jacks. When you stand up, you will have a symmetrical pattern on the ground. So I did it. There is a video of me doing it in my link of movies (located under Links section on the left.) Below is a picture of the end result.
By Monday, the whole lake in front of the campus was frozen over, and the height of the snow on the ground went up to 5 inches! That's knee deep!
And I have nothing better to cook than fried black pepper chicken on a cold day... Brings out the heat in you... Lolz...
We borrowed a couple more DVDs over the last few days, namely Kill Bill 1, Farenheit 911 and Bruce Almighty. It was like 'Movie Night', EVERY night.
Just now, we went to S-Mall, a shopping mall about 15 minutes cycle from the campus. Well, it would have been 15 minutes had Chin Ho not gotten us lost and we had to turn back for 10 minutes before reaching the place. It was like an ordinary shopping mall, but I guess Yaomin and Chin Ho were enjoying themselves watching a lot of Japanese school girls walking around. After a good one hour there, we cycled for half an hour to Tsutaya. And it was horrible. Sleet coming down (scratched my face), night traffic, frozen roads. It can really make a killer. I had a couple of slip-ups, but at most, just hurt my shin. Back to the campus, we watched Phone Booth, and decided to leave Excalibur 2 for the next day.
I noticed some kind of trend in the campus. Most of them are having messy hair and growing beards and moustaches. As for me, I have not gelled my hair for almost 25 days. Maybe I'll go with the trend? Keeping a messy hairstyle and a moustache and beard? I might just try it.
The only things keeping me company while I'm in the hostel are my internet radio and internet TV. Yeah, the radio's been playing some nice hits, like Ryan Cabrera - True and Yellowcard - Only One. I think those are the titles. And internet TV, well... Been watching Seinfield and Family Guy. You guys should try it. Just open your WinAmp and open your Media List, and search for a TV/radio station you like.
The snow's coming down again. It doesn't look like it will stop. Looks like I'll have to cook something to spice up my day tomorrow. Hmm... How about black pepper beef? I'm not really so sure about cooking beef... Never really tried it. Oh well, there's a first time for everything.
I hope it goes right the first time.
