[Mood: Okay] [Mentally: Fine] [Physically: Fine] [State of Mind: Tired]
The past few days have been quite fun, mainly because we finally have something to do outside the campus. On Sunday, there was an unoffical farewell party for Likai and us, which was held at Hinako's dad's restaurant. Entertainment by Hinako's band, the French Fried Acid Band (I think) was great. I have a video clip of their short performance in my link of movies. Worth a checking out. Below are some pictures.
If you notice in one of the pictures, there is a guitarist with an Afro hairdo. It was after the performance that he revealed it was only a wig, as shown in the last picture.
After the party, Gabor made a crazy suggestion to cycle to the sea. The sea was about 7km from where we were, and we had to overcome a small mountain to get to the other side. We agreed though, and off we went to our suffering cycling trip. We encountered a railway track which we had to pass, and we looked like illegal immigrants trying to cross a border. Lolz... All of us had a good laugh.
Sneaking to the middle of the tracks, making sure no trains are coming, and posing for a picture.
Nearing the mountain, I got some nice shots of plantations with mountains in the background.
At the foot of the mountain, we had to push our bikes as it was almost impossible to cycle up. Halfway through, Gabor and Chin Ho decided to hike in the forest, leaving Likai, Yaomin and me to continue to the other side.
The trip up was rewarded with a trip down, at fast speed. Too fast though, as I turned into an expressway, I didn't see the curb in front of me, and I crashed into it, throwing me forward onto the ground, and the bicycle making a 180 degrees vertical rotation and landed on my head. It was painful at first, and lucky for me, no injuries or whatsoever, but it was FUN! The fun was not over yet, as there was still a 6% steep slope we have yet to ride down.
A warning of things to come.
We sped down for a full 5 minutes before arriving at the sea, and unfortunately for us, it started to rain, the wind was very strong and the currents in the sea were crazy. Gabor and Chin Ho lost their way in the forest, so we decided to track back and meet them along the way. It was later that night that we knew there was an earthquake somewhere south-west of where we were, and I was wondering if the bad weather at the sea was the aftermath of the quake. (Similar but smaller sympthoms of a tsunami?)
It was a waste we couldn't see the sunset at the sea, so yesterday Gabor suggested we go again, this time, setting off an hour earlier than yesterday. Yaomin decided not to follow along, maybe because he was too tired, but I was more than glad to tag along. The four of us (Gabor, Likai, Chin Ho and me) set off for our crazy journey once more, this time packing some food. I did some cautious down-hill cycle to ensure I don't crash into another curb, and upon reaching at the sea, I took some pictures.
Taken at "Rainbow Bridge", but it is known to be closed down for militarised purposes. Not so sure.
The "Rainbow Bridge" is not really a good location to get nice pictures of sunsets, so we went further down until we reached the lighthouse area. Here, there were lots of rocky places. I cannot really describe it, you have to look at the pictures and videos located in my link of movies to get a good feel of it.
I tried to jump across a small gap to get to the other side for a picture, which I think would be a very nice addition to my collection, but decided against it when huge waves came splashing in.
That's all I have to update for now. It has been a tiring, but great 2 days. I'll try to update again if there are any more interesting happenings.
