[Mood: Great] [Mentally: Fine] [Physically: Fine] [State of Mind: Stable]
I had a shock this morning while visiting my primary school. When I entered, a security guard stopped me and asked me where I was going. I said I was going to visit my primary school teacher. He asked why, and I said it's Teachers' Day (DUH!). He said I had to book in first, so it wasn't a problem for me. As I wrote down my name, he casually asked which teacher I was meeting. Miss Chew was my Primary 6 form teacher in 1997.
Me: Miss Chew.
S.G.: The Vice-Principal?
Me: No, no... Miss Chew May.
S.G.: Yeah, the Vice-Principal!
Me: *mouth wide open* NO WAY!
S.G.: Yes! She's the Vice-Principal!
I quickly made my way to the corridors of the office, saw a teacher, and ask for the Vice-Principal. Actually I know where the office is, but I guess it's better to pretend I don't know rather than barge in. So she led me to the office, and opened the door for me. I saw my ex-form teacher, she saw me, and out of the blues, I showed a mock face of disbelief and exclaimed,
Me: Oh my! The Vice-Principal! I can't believe it!
Her: Ha ha... Yah! Come on... Don't give me that face!
Me: *still giving her that face* Wow! Incredible! I can't believe it!
And I sat down and we talked for like 45 minutes. Other than the occasional interruptions of the Discipline Master and the Principal, it was laughter and an update of each of our lives. It is funny how things have changed. I joked with her that now she is Vice-Principal, whether she can finally find Mr Right. She said it's a possibility, now that she doesn't have to spend weekends marking compos. She used to reject guys asking her out in the past because of too much work. She invited me to come up to the hall to watch the concert, but I had to keep to my schedule, and look for the Vice-Principal of my secondary school, which is just next door. Unfortunately, he wasn't in. But at least I can take it as a pleasure that every Teachers' Day, I'm going back to both my primary and secondary schools not to look for teachers, but for Vice-Principals. Lolz. Maybe I should call it Vice-Principals' Day for me instead.
I broke a personal record today. Watched 'Herbie: Fully Loaded', making it the 10th movie I watched this month! What a record, but I think it'll stand for a long time to come.
NS is less that 10 days away... 8 days to be precise. I better start packing. I don't know how it's gonna be like, but hey, that's part of the fun. Fun. I wonder how I'll look at the word when I'm in NS.
